One of the things we love most about I Limori is its location. Hidden among the countryside yet within easy reach of some of Tuscany's most beautiful towns, beaches and landscapes, it makes the perfect starting point for slow days and memorable adventures.
We often go to Pisa without a plan, beginning with a walk along the river and letting the streets decide the rest. It is close enough for an easy morning, yet there is always another small square, old doorway or favourite place for coffee that makes us want to linger.
Lucca has always felt familiar to our family. We love arriving before lunch, walking beneath the trees on the walls and choosing a café only when we find one that feels right. It is a place to wander slowly, return to old favourites and still notice something new each time.
San Miniato is one of our favourite afternoon trips, especially when we feel like taking the slower roads. We come for the views, the quiet streets and the pleasure of stopping somewhere small for something good to eat. It feels close to home, yet always like a gentle change of scene.
The road to Volterra is part of the day for us. We love watching the landscape become wider and quieter before reaching the town, then spending a few hours walking without a schedule. There is something about its stone streets and long views that makes every visit feel calm and unhurried.
On warm days, we head towards the coast with little more than towels and an idea of where to stop for lunch. The sea changes with the season, but we never tire of the open light, the sound of the water and the pleasure of staying until the afternoon begins to soften.
